MOTO'S Z10 PACKS A VIDEO EDITING PUNCH

May 1, 2008

Motorola has released the MOTO Z10, the follow-up to its Z8 handset.

The Z10 can capture high quality video clips at 30 frames per second (MPEG4 format), with the user able to edit them, create transitions between scenes and add title slides and a soundtrack. Users can then use the wireless connection to upload their multimedia masterpiece onto social networking sites.

The HSDPA-enabled kick-slider also has a 3.2-megapixel camera with instant launch and autofocus, with images automatically saved directly to a media gallery by content type.

Other features include a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, expandable memory (up to 32GB when the cards become available) with a microSD card.

Motorola UK marketing manager James King said: “With the MOTO Z10, we have transformed the movie making experience into a mobile, social activity. Now, anyone can capture and share life’s moments from almost anywhere in the world and make their unique perspective a part of popular culture.”

The Z10 is available now on O2 from free to £149.99 on contract, dependent on tariff.

In addition, the manufacturer has announced a mobile film deal for the handset with Paramount Pictures, meaning users will be able to download a selection of 50 films direct from Motorola’s UK website. The service is available on the Z10 and other Motorola devices that support OMA 2.0.

To celebrate the launch of the device, Motorola is encouraging budding film directors to get involved in its ‘DirectME’ short film competition, with entrants competing for a Z10 and a top prize of £10,000. Visit www.hellomoto.co.uk to enter.
