May 1, 2008

Sony Ericsson is set to introduce the HSDPA-enabled G502 (pictured) to its line-up.

The candy bar handset is designed for heavy web users and comes with an email set-up wizard designed to give the user instant access to their own webmail account. For push email users, it also supports Exchange ActiveSync.

The G502 comes with the latest version of Google Maps for Mobile, which lets users look at maps in satellite view, as well as listings of local restaurants and hotels

It also includes assisted satellite navigation for point-by-point directions to a destination, but you have to buy the GPS Enabler HE-100 accessory for this. Other features include a 2-megapixel camera, picture and video blogging and music player.

Sony Ericsson director o global marketing and head of multimedia web Martin Winkler said: “The G502 is the latest in an established line of classic Sony Ericsson phones that cram a wealth of time-saving features into a pocket-sized phone.

"It improves on its predecessors by adding HSDPA for high-speed web connectivity, making it appealing to those who need to stay on top of busy lives.”

The G502 will be available later this quarter and will come in 'Champagne Black' and 'Brilliant Hazel'.
